Whole-grain component synergy and cancer

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapter

Abstract

Whole-grain intake is protective against a wide range of cancers. This protection is greater than that seen with any component in whole grains alone, such as dietary fiber, minerals, vitamins, antioxidants, or phytochemicals. We attribute this protectiveness of whole grains to the synergy or additive effect of its components.
