Waveguide embedded in silicon inverse opal

Abstract

Waveguides embedded in a Si-inverse opal structure, with a bandgap centered at 1.55 μm wavelength, have been simulated. Transmitted power spectrum and power loss calculations have been performed with different waveguide materials using the FDTD method.
