N2 - The PSPICE computer circuit simulation program is used to verify the accuracy of the modified Windkessel model in representing the arterial vascular system. In the initia! condition simulation during diastole, the least squares error(LSE) between the simulated aortic root pressure(P1) and the actual recorded wave is 2.25 mmHg. In the continuous simulation for the whole cardiac cycle, the LSE is 6.78 mmHg. This confirms that the modified Windkessel model provides a close approximation for the vascular load presented to the left ventricle.
