Update on metabolic liver disease

Abstract

Metabolic liver disease can be screened in a cost-effective manner to allow earlier, more effective therapy. Liver transplantation for these disorders should be continually re-evaluated. Gene therapy is being investigated as a therapy for the future with animal models as a prototype.
