Abstract

The unique alkylidene complex [(η⁵-C₅H₅)Ta-(NEt₂) ₂(=C₅H₄)] 2 is prepared in low yield from the reaction of [(η⁵-C₅H₅)Ta(NEt₂) ₂Cl₂] 1 with 2 equiv. of MeLi and is fully characterised including an X-ray structural determination.
