Abstract

To the Editor: Having spent many years actively studying and working with different healing systems in various parts of the world, I feel justified in saying that many unorthodox cures work, usually repeatedly, in ways that defy the placebo effect. The laws of consumerism seem to dictate that the popularity and longevity of various medical systems are related to their ability to effect cures.
