Abstract
The Pediatric nephrologist is the infant patient's medical advocate, joining with the family to efficiently restore renal function and vigor to a child incapacitated by renal failure. In this context, renal transplantation, even in infancy, is an effective, available therapy holding the potential to improve the long term outcome for individual young children.
