Abstract

The transient response time of L-band and C-band in erbium doped fiber amplifiers in wavelength division multiplexing networks was studied. The analysis was used to describe gain dynamics of the fiber amplifiers. The dynamic differences in terms of transient response time were investigated. A longer transient time for L-band than C-band was observed for different dropped channels.
