Abstract

Calcite and dolomite from skarn veins (12) and altered host-rock (18) have delta ¹⁸O and delta ¹³C values (relative to PDB) between those of the unaltered host rock and magmatic water, indicating that it played a large part in skarn formation. Carbonates from veins lacking fluorite (5) show depletion in delta ¹⁸O only, indicating fluid dominated by meteoric water. Values for fluorite ⁸⁷Sr/⁸⁶Sr intermediate between host-rock and granite require at least two sources. Fluorite REE values resemble those of the host suggesting limited REE mobility.K.F.
