Abstract
X-ray structural studies establish that the titanium dicarbollide complexes (η5-C2B9H11)(C 5Me5)TiMe (4) and (η5-C2B9H11)(η 5,η1-C5Me4CH2)Ti (5) adopt bent metallocene structures. In 4 the metallocene units are linked into chains by weak intermolecular Ti⋯H-B interactions involving B-H units that are meta to Ti within the C2B9Ti cages. The fulvene ligand in 5 is bonded in α π-η5,σ-η1-fashion.
