Abstract

This paper reports the experimental confirmation for poly(isopropylacrylamide) and poly(diethylacrylamide) gels of the molecular theory of swollen gels described in the companion paper. The predicted values of the parameters used in the theory agree closely with those measured experimentally. The theory is also qualitatively successful in accounting for the increase of the swollen gel volume with pressure.
