N2 - Treatment-resistant depression often leads to increased morbidity and disability. The authors report the use of ketamine, a selective N-methyl-d-aspartate (NMDA) receptor antagonist, in two patients with treatment-resistant depression. Multiple ketamine treatments may provide an effective rapid antidepressant effect with prolonged benefit.
