Abstract
This essay is my reflection and commentary on an article exploring the rhetoric of the second wave of feminism that was published in 1973 as the wave was developing. It describes how the article came into existence, what I would change if I were writing it today, what of the original essay I would reaffirm, what ideas in it I would elaborate, and what I see as its most important omissions.
