The Origins of the Corinthian Christ Group: Paul’s Chord of Gods

The origin of this book on origins can be traced to my first public presentation of some of the book’s ideas at my installation as Sundet Family Chair in New Testament and Christian Studies in the then Department of Classical and Near Eastern Studies (now the Department of Classical and Near Eastern Religions and Cultures) at the University of Minnesota in the fall of 2015. Since then the Sundet Family Chair has been a continual source of support for this project, funding summer work and presentations at conferences along the way towards the creation of this book. I would like to thank the Sundet family for their generosity and foresight in endowing this chair many years ago to establish the permanent presence of the study of early Christianity at the University of Minnesota.
