Abstract

Student-teaching plays a crucial role in preparing preservice teachers to transition into real teaching settings. This article provides practical guidance to enhance the student-teaching experience, ensuring preservice teachers are well prepared for their future roles as educators. It introduces 10 tips for navigating student-teaching experiences, aiming to help preservice teachers manage the transition from theory to practice, enhance their pedagogical skills, and foster their professional identity. These tips can be grouped into four interconnected categories: professional identity and growth, pedagogical quality and inclusivity, leadership and career advancement, and collaboration and community engagement. Success will come from embracing all aspects of student teaching, from personal growth and leadership development to pedagogical quality and collaboration. By applying these strategies holistically, student teachers can enhance their professional growth, build meaningful relationships, and establish a strong foundation for a successful career in physical education.
