Abstract

A telemedicine program combining videoconferencing, Internet access and physiological home monitoring provides virtual visits between homebound patients and home health care providers. These visits should improve home care, reduce cost, increase access, and improve patient satisfaction. The effectiveness of these virtual visits depends on subject acceptance and adherence, data validity, and image quality.
