Abstract

A tert‐butoxide base‐mediated cyclization of fluoro‐ and trifluoromethyl‐substituted Schiff bases 12‐19 produces 4‐tert‐butoxyquinolines 23‐30 which are hydrolyzed to quinolin‐4‐ols 31‐38.
