Abstract
The synthesis and crystal structure of orange 2-aminopyridinium tetrachlorocuprate(II), (C5H7N2) 2CuCl4, have been reported. The compound crystallizes in P1 space group and contains discrete tetrahedral CuCl42- species and 2-aminopyridinium cations. An extensive molecular association through the hydrogen bonding involving all the chlorine atoms is also observed in the crystallizing environment of the title compound.
