Abstract
Lactic-glycolic acid polymer composite (PLGA) combined their respective advantages of poly(lactic acid) and poly(glycolic acid), meanwhile developed some new functions such as better controlled biodegradation, mechanic features, physics and chemistry and so on. Poly (lactic-glycolic Acid) were synthesized directly by melting polymerization with lactic acid and glycolic acid as monomers. The paper shows the influence factors on copolymer intrinsic viscosity including polymerization time, catalyst category, mixing speed, monomer ratio. The optimum reaction conditions are: the ratio of LA/GA 1:1, reaction time 10 hours, catalyst stannous chloride, stirred speed 200r/min. The structure, appearance and biodegradation of copolymer are characterized.
