Abstract
Research on product innovation and quality was conducted in companies engaged in electronics industry participating in the research project. A cross-case analysis was used to derive propositions about the relationships between speed of product innovation and product and organizational quality. The factors that appear to support the rapid product development included the strategic importance of the project collocation of team members, off-line development of technology, strength of the team leader, use of electronic and software tools, and integration of information systems.
