    Abstract

A technique for managing surge irrigations to achieve effective and efficient results is presented. The technique was developed based on field and computer simulation studies. It was determined that surge irrigations produce best results when surging is ceased after completion of advance and a continuous application at a reduced inflow rate is applied.
