Surface topography and cartilage thickness templates for the femur and patella based on an average of healthy articular surfaces

Abstract

The patella and femur surfaces of 14 healthy human knee joints were used to create average articular surface topographies and average cartilage thickness maps. The maps are shown to be useful as templates for the identification of lesions on patient-specific thickness maps.
