Supraventricular tachycardias: Mechanisms and therapies

ECG findings alone are inadequate to provide a definitive diagnosis or even to differentiate supraventricular from ventricular tachycardias. Intracardiac electrophysiologic testing, however, has substantially increased our understanding of the nature of these arrhythmias, thereby clarifying the optimum approaches to their evaluation and treatment.
