Abstract

Mixed human salivary bacteria and strains of S. salivarius and S. miteor suppressed colonization of C. albicans in gnotobiotic mice. C. albicans attached in lower numbers to epithelial cells from conventional rats than from germ free rats, and attachment inhibition by indigenous flora may explain in part the suppression of Candida colonization.
