Abstract

This report describes the results of model studies of the Interstate-29 bridge crossing of the Big Sioux River near Sioux City, Iowa. These studies were concerned with the testing of the provisions for protection of the bridges from seoul:' during future floods and the stabilization of the banks from further subsidence. Interstate-29 crosses the Big Sioux River about 1..5 miles above the confluence of the Big Sioux with the Missouri River.
