Abstract
During chronic amphetamine administration, there is a decrease in the threshold of drug-induced forms of behavior. As a means of exploring this phenomenon at a fundamental level, animal studies are carried out to investigate the mechanism of chronic amphetamine intoxication. By revealing how amphetamine, an important psychotropic agent, functions at the cellular level, this research may lead to improved methods of treatment for drug-induced neural disturbances and functional psychoses.
