Abstract

The importance of developing preventive stress management interventions in major societal institutions is emphasised, with particular attention given to the schools and employment settings. The unique role that counseling psychology can assume in promoting preventive stress management interventions is discussed. Review of major stress theories and examples of interventions are presented.
