Abstract

A beam-forming algorithm for coupled oscillator arrays is presented. The algorithm includes null or maximum level constraints in the array factor, the array steady state solution, and additionally maximizes the decay rate of the derived solution. In order to include the decay rate constraint in the optimization formulation an alternate minimization of two eigenvalue minimization problems that can be efficiently solved, is proposed. The algorithm is demonstrated in a 9 element linear array beam-forming example.
