Abstract
Under a quick turnaround call order, SSA asked Abt Associates to synthesize available evidence on the effect of community-based services and supports for transition-age youth with disabilities, and to make recommendations on the role of community-based services in SSA’s SSI work incentives for transition-age youth. This report answers two main questions:1.What kinds of community-based supports and services are effective in improving employment, employment readiness, and related outcomes for youth with disabilities? 2.Based on the available evidence, what policy changes to Section 301 could improve employment and related outcomes for transition-age youth receiving SSI?
