abstract = "The spatial-mode and spectral-mode properties of a general three-mirror resonator with collinearly aligned cavity mirrors have been studied. It has been found that the resonator spatial mode can be controlled through engineering the complex reflectivity of the resonator mirrors. Further study reveals strong correlation between spatial modes and spectral modes of a three-mirror resonator. Strong spectral selectivity can be achieved with proper engineering of the spatial mode.",
