Source Effect on Near-Field Multi-Beam-Splitting in Fabry-Perot Cavity Antenna System

Abstract

Fabry-Perot Cavity (FPC)antenna systems can be designed to produce beam-splitting in the near-field as a means of increasing system gain. This paper will describe performance of FPC system when two unidirectional antenna designs are evaluated with frequency selective surface (FSS)design with a cross (i.e. FSS-Cross)to create quad beam-splitting. The cavity-backed slot design has gain that is 1 dB higher than the patch design.
