Abstract

The rheological studies on well characterized blends and layered composites of polypropylene and polystyrene was discussed. The shear viscosity of these multilayers samples was measured with an in line slit rheometer and with a parallel plate rheometer. The viscosity decreased with the number of layers which showed that there was an interfacial slip. In the shear measurement within the linear viscoelastic region the complex vicosity of the multilayer samples agreed with the homopolymers. Graft copolymers formed by in situ reaction at the interfaces showed suppress interfacial slip.
