Sexual concerns in the patient with an ileostomy

Abstract

Fifty well-rehabilitated patients with ileostomy were studied to determine long-term sexual concerns. Patients' concerns related to the presence of an external appliance, the significant response of others to the ileostomy, and sexual function following surgery are discussed.
