Abstract

This paper describes the sensitivity to tolerances of four-bar linkage link angles in terms of two nondimensional quantities a and T. The traces of these quantities are then plotted in the (λ₁,λ₃, λ₄) space thus allowing the designer to synthesize a fourbar linkage with a prescribed sensitivity value and predict the tolerance required to achieve a certain accuracy on link angles.
