Abstract

A rationale and model for changing assessment efforts in schools from simple description to integration of information from multiple sources for the purpose of designing interventions are described. Analyzing instructional environments for individual students is a prerequisite for effective consultation and intervention planning. School psychologists, as assessment specialists, are in an ideal position to assist educators to change the way they think about and conduct assessments.
