Abstract

An analytical treatment, at the mean-field level, of the ionic-strength dependence of the normal forces between two opposing quenched PE brushless under compression was made. Applying the Derjaguin approximation to a simple model, the theoretical predictions were compared to experimental measurements carried out on PE brushes.
