Abstract
In this paper, we redesign the controller for the linearized model of the Grumman F - 14, one of the IEEE Control System Society's benchmark problems. Experience indicates that it is possible to improve the overall system robustness by changing the weights. And our simulation results indeed show that the robustness of the system against the aircraft large parameter variations under the current design has been largely improved and is much better than our earlier attempt at a controller design using different weights.
