Risk Analysis

In the late twentieth century, mathematicians, engineers, economists, and health care professionals began to standardize techniques for qualitatively or quantitatively assessing and predicting measures of risk in their respective fields. As a result, a collection of methods known as risk analysis emerged to support rational decision making in the face of uncertainty. Risk analysis is not science per se, but is, instead, an evidence-based process that is an organized and logical approach to identifying and using scientific information to support policy making in the real world.
