Abstract
The American Heart Association Committee on Rheumatic Fever, Endocarditis, and Kawasaki Disease recently updated the Jones criteria for the diagnosis of rheumatic fever. The updated guidelines are intended to facilitate the diagnosis and diminish the overdiagnosis of this disease.
