Abstract

In the moraine landscapes of the United States, surface runoff is transported into and stored in natural surface depressions. The potential for groundwater recharge in these areas is greater than in the surrounding upland drainage areas. Recharge is estimated using a water balance for a depression focused landscape in southern Minnesota and compared to the upland drainage areas.
