Abstract

Exposure to Cd concentrations of 100-200 μg l-1 significantly reduced growth rate of the estuarine gastropod Hydrobia ventrosa. Snails acclimated to 23‰ salinity sea-water (S) showed reduced growth rates at 13 and 33‰ S relative to snails grown at 23‰ S. At 13‰ S snails did not grow, and any additional effects of cadmium exposure on growth were masked. -from Author
