Abstract
An optimal regional pole-placement techniquefor discrete systems is developed by assigning eigenvalues within a circle embedded inside a logarithmic spiral, which corresponds to a domain (sector) of stability in the continuous-time system. The technique is applied to the optimal momentum management controller for the space station Freedom. An algorithm for the technique is presented.
