Abstract

The purpose of this report is to present information on: the isolation of M. paratuberculosis from domestic and nondomestic animals; epidemiologic aspects of paratuberculosis; factors associated with pathogenicity of certain mycobacteria; the development of diagnostic procedures including lymphocyte immunostimulation and serologic tests; and modifications in cultural procedures that allow for collection of fecal samples from a large number of cattle at one time.
