Quantum Criticality of d-Wave Quasiparticles and Superconducting Phase Fluctuations

Research output: Contribution to journal › Article › peer-review

Abstract

The finite temperature (T) extension of the (2+1)- dimensional QED (QED3) theory of underdoped cuprates was presented. The theory describes nodal quasiparticles whose interactions with quantum proliferated hc/2e vortex-antivortex pairs were represented by an emergent U(1) gauge field. The uniform magnetic spin susceptibility χ was also evaluated. It was observed that the low-energy quasiparticle were strongly interacting when the superconducting phase order was destroyed by proliferation of unbounded quantum vortex-antivortex pairs.
