Abstract
Experience with megadose steroid therapy in immune-mediated dyscrasias indicates that the modality can suppress destructive immune reactivity quickly and dramatically, without significant adverse effects. Pulse steroids are currently being given only for severe and intractable disease; further investigation in needed to determine their value in less severe conditions.
