Abstract
Prostaglandins have many possibilities in body metabolism and pain mediation. Pharmacological implications are equally astounding. Not only the effects briefly reviewed in this essay such as inflammatory pain transmission, bone-connective tissue metabolism, immune complex activation, or collagenase secretion but countless other benefits may one day be therapeutically induced or inhibited through the increasingly expanding knowledge. 59 references are cited.
