Abstract
Candida rugosa was grown experimentally at room temperature and at uncontrolled pH in a 250 ml conical flask in the production medium consisting of malt extract, peptone and agar. The sample was analyzed for substrate concentration, lipolytic activity, biomass concentration, total protein content and pH for every time interval of 12 hrs. The amount of lipase production increased with the increase in time. The production time of 14 hours was required to obtain maximum lipase concentration of 12 μmol/L.min.
