Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapter

Abstract

Post-transplant infections are an increasingly important problem in the pediatric kidney transplant recipient. In particular, bacterial urinary tract infections and viral infections due to CMV, Epstein-Barr virus and BK virus are important sources of morbidity, graft loss and patient death. In 2019 onwards, the SAR-COV-2 virus pandemic greatly affected organ transplant recipients. In this chapter, the authors discuss the incidence, risk factors, diagnostic methods, treatment and prevention of these infections.
