A conference was held to address the issue regarding world sustainability which are joined by administrators and faculty to share ideas and gather information on how to help their own regions, institutions, and schools to prepare for the climate change effect on the designed environment. They have talked about the climate extremes happening across North America as well as the polar ice caps melting. As a response to the issue, the academic administrators established a National Academy of Environmental Design to coordinate and disseminate research on sustainability and related social justice issues. The conference even included overviews regarding on what the state and municipal governments are doing for a greener community. As for fabric architecture, the conference opted for lightweight tensile structures to help make ways for sustainability.
