Discusses preliminary investigations carried out for potential hydropower development projects. Four issues are addressed: flow duration, available head, single-purpose operation of one reservoir, and total project costs. Watershed hydrology, flow data, available head calculation, flow duration curves, operation analysis of a hydropower facility, and cost estimation are covered.
